About The Position
About the Unit The 5 South Observation Unit supports the Emergency Department and Telemetry units by caring for low‑acuity patients who require short‑term monitoring to determine if inpatient admission is needed. It’s a fast‑paced, team‑focused environment with strong collaboration between nurses, techs, and providers. Job Summary We are seeking a PRN Tech to support patient care activities on the 5 South Observation Unit. This role assists nursing staff with direct care, monitoring, and essential clinical tasks.
Requirements
- BLS certification
- 12‑Lead EKG competency (training available)
- Phlebotomy skills (training available)
Responsibilities
- Assist with vital signs
- Patient mobility
- Hygiene
- Daily care needs
- Performing 12‑lead EKGs
- Completing phlebotomy and specimen collection
- Responding to call lights
- Maintaining a safe environment
- Communicating effectively with the care team to ensure timely, high‑quality patient care
