About The Position

The position involves advanced clinical social work practice within a medical setting, focusing on enhancing the psychosocial functioning of individuals, couples, families, and groups. The role requires applying specialized clinical knowledge and skills in prevention, assessment, and treatment of various disorders, while also engaging in multi-disciplinary treatment planning and coordinating complex discharge plans using both company and community-based services.

Requirements

• Master's degree in social work (MSW) required.
• Certified Social Worker (CSW) or Registered Social Worker (RSW) certification required.
• Preferred: Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) certification.
• Good knowledge of common disease entities and medical terminology.
• Excellent psychotherapeutic skills and superior interpersonal skills.
• Advanced knowledge of acute and chronic care medical settings and the psychosocial effects of illness.
• Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a medical social work field preferred.
• 5 years of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interview and assess patients to assist throughout the patient care plan.
• Identify and provide helpful resources to patients and families.
• Maintain patient records and document critical information for the medical team.
• Participate in on-call rotation.
• Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, ensuring respect for privacy and effective communication.
• Perform other related duties as required.
