PRN Security Guard
About The Position
Westminster Canterbury of Lynchburg, a 5-Star rated Continuing Care Retirement Community in Central VA is seeking a PRN / Limbo Security Guard to join our team! Perform a variety of security duties to protect the safety and property of residents, employees, and the facility. Patrol parking lots, property, and buildings to ensure their security. Check automobiles on site for improper parking and display of registration decals; issue tickets for vehicle violations. Maintain traffic control for special events. Respond to fire and intrusion alarms. Check alarm system and related emergency equipment. Participate in fire drills. Coordinate monthly fire extinguisher inspection, and other preventive maintenance on the fire/safety system. Provide information and direction to employees, visitors, and the general public. Assist in the investigation, preparation, and analysis of incident reports. Assist nursing staff with resident emergencies, transferring lab specimens to hospital for lab work, and setting up oxygen tanks. Follow-up calls placed to residents who do not respond. Provide assistance to residents and employees with locked car doors. Jump-start dead car batteries and pump flat tires for residents and employees as needed. Assist maintenance personnel in securing grounds of unwanted stray or wild animals using appropriate safety procedures. Provide assistance as needed for Reception Desk receptionist/switchboard operator including copying Update, answering telephones, delivering packages to employees and residents, referring messages to appropriate departments, etc. Remove and salt snow from sidewalks as necessary. Place core locks on residents’ apartment doors while on leave. Replace core door locks as assigned. Cut new keys as assigned. Assist van driver with maintaining company vehicles. Maintain security uniform. Provide secure entrance and exit for community funeral home services.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Excellent driving record
- CPR/AED Certified or ability to obtain upon hire
- Must be ambulatory for up to 12 hours and physically active
