South Pointe Hospital provides comprehensive surgical services to meet the needs of patients above the age of 14. There are currently seven Operating Rooms (ORs) that run daily, which include two DV5 robots, one endovascular suite, and extensive gynecology, urology, and bariatric service lines. By joining the OR team an RN, you will cover a variety of services and provide care to both ambulatory patients and inpatients. This dual role will allow you to both scrub and circulate within the OR. RNs on this team will be able to maintain and grow their skills further while working in a flexible PRN role that offers a great work-life balance.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Internal applicants: one year of recent related clinical experience
  • External applicants: two years of recent related clinical experience

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross - If you do not hold this certification, you must obtain it within six months of hire
  • Med/Surg nursing experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care in an operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or invasive procedures.
  • Perform scrub functions including the selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during procedure.
  • Perform circulating functions including monitoring, recording and communicating patient condition and managing overall nursing care of patient before, during and after procedure.
  • Prepare the OR, surgical instruments and equipment for use.
