The Post-Anesthesia Care Unit's (PACU) team of caregivers at Euclid Hospital pride themselves on providing top-quality and patient-centered care all while ensuring the safety of their patients. As an RN in the PACU, you will provide direct nursing care to diverse populations of post-surgical patients waiting for their anesthesia to wear off. This includes monitoring patient's health, assessing patient's pain levels, administering medication, and maintaining up-to-date patient records. How You'll Benefit Our Center for Workplace Violence Prevention and Caregiver Well-Being sets caregiver safety as a priority, identifying, reporting and responding to incidents and providing safety resources. A caregiver in this position works PRN (as needed) variable shifts. A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross
  • External candidates: two years of recent related nursing experience
  • Internal candidates with less than two years of experience, but are post-orientation/90-day probationary period, may be considered with CNO level review and approval
  • Licensed military RN experience will be considered

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN)

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients' conditions.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs.
