Following surgery and endoscopic procedures, patients are taken to the Endoscopy Post-Anesthesia Care Unit where caregivers monitor their progress in recovering from the immediate effects of surgery and anesthesia. As an RN on this team, you will utilize your nursing experience to provide compassionate care as patients return to health. In this role, you can make a difference in the lives of patients and their families every day. How You’ll Benefit Our Center for Workplace Violence Prevention and Caregiver Well-Being sets caregiver safety as a priority, identifying, reporting and responding to incidents and providing safety resources. A caregiver in this position works PRN (as needed) variable shifts. You must work 48 hours within a six week period.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross
• External candidates: two years of recent related nursing experience
• Internal candidates with less than two years of experience, but are post-orientation/90-day probationary period, may be considered with CNO level review and approval
• Licensed military RN experience will be considered

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN)
• Critical care background
• PACU/ICU experience

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
