Lutheran Hospital's operating room consists of eight operating room suites and one dedicated cystoscopy suite. Offering sophisticated technology and advanced medical care in an intimate and friendly environment, our surgical volume is composed primarily of orthopedics, including spine, total joint, and sports procedures. Other services provided include general surgery, podiatry, urology, and more. A caregiver in this position works varying shifts from 7:00AM - 3:30PM or 9:00AM-5:30PM.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of Professional Nursing
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Two years of operating room experience

Responsibilities

• Deliver professional nursing care in an operative setting to adult and pediatric patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures.
• Perform scrub functions, such as selecting and handling instruments and supplies.
• Perform circulating functions, such as monitoring, recording and communicating patient condition and managing the overall nursing care of patients before, during and after the procedure.
• Assist the operating physician with surgical tasks, such as hemostasis, suturing, wound exposure and patient positioning.
• Prepare the Operating Room, surgical instruments and surgical equipment for use.
