Fairview Hospital's 5 Pavilion Med/Surg & Telemetry Unit has a dedicated team of caregivers that provide top-quality inpatient acute care to adults recovering from a wide variety of conditions, such as pneumonia, heart failure and chest pain, as well as monitor pre-operative and post-operative surgical patients. This unit prides themselves on teamwork and has been nominated for the Cleveland Clinic Nursing Team Excellence Award several times and won the award in 2015. A caregiver in this position works varying shifts from 7:00am - 7:30pm or 7:00pm - 7:30am.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record and communicate patients' conditions.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • External applicants: two years of recent related nursing experience.
  • Internal applicants with less than two years' experience, but post orientation/90-day probationary period, could be considered with the Chief Nursing Officer level review and approval.
  • Will consider military RN experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN).
