Medina Hospital's 3 South nursing unit is a 32-bed unit that specializes in general medical surgical care for adult and geriatric patients with an emphasis on observation. 3 South delivers care to a variety of other conditions including pneumonia, diabetes, sepsis, GI bleed, cellulitis, COPD exacerbation, various cancers, kidney stones, and bowel obstructions. This unit also cares for, but is not limited to, patients undergoing hysterectomies, thyroidectomies, colon resections and appendectomies. As an RN, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care, from initial introduction to final send-off. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare education as needed. This is a regular PRN position, with caregivers working shifts varying between 7:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN program)
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
- External applicants must have two years of recent related nursing experience.
- Internal applicants with less than two years of experience but post orientation/90-day probationary period could be considered with Chief Nursing Officer level review and approval
- Will consider licensed military RN experience

Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Monitor, record and communicate patients' conditions.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs.
- Maintain professional growth and development through ongoing formal and informal education and clinical nursing study.
