Marymount Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) consists of 28 beds in two connected 14-bed pods and was designed for high acuity patients who need critical care and are being treated for serious medical conditions. Some of the most common procedures in this unit include bronchoscopy, endoscopy, emergent intubation, central line placement, continuous renal replacement therapy, pronation, and therapeutic hypothermia. As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care by interacting directly with patients, families, and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare information as needed. This position requires a caregiver who is empathetic, understanding and nurturing to ensure quality patient care and effective life-saving treatment.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN, or BSN)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross must be presented upon hire or within first year of employment.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• External applicants: two years of recent experience in an acute care setting
• Internal applicants with less than two years’ experience, but post orientation/90-day probationary period, could be considered with the Chief Nursing Officer level review and approval
• Will consider military RN experience

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care.

• Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
