This means Mercy Hospital's Emergency Department is fully prepared to provide 24/7 critical care through immediate service, superior care, and peace of mind. By joining the Emergency Department team at Mercy Hospital as an RN, you will deliver exceptional care throughout the patient care journey. In this role, you will interact directly with patients and their families, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed. This is a busy department that handles a wide variety of cases each day, allowing you plenty of exposure and the chance to enhance your skills during each shift. A PRN caregiver in this position works varying shifts, which may include weekends and holidays.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross - willing to obtain within one year of employment
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross - willing to obtain within one year of employment
  • External applicants: two years of recent related nursing experience
  • Internal applicants with less than two years' experience, but post orientation/90-day probationary period could be considered with the Chief Nursing Officer level review and approval
  • Will consider military RN experience
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC - adult) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC - pediatric) or willing to complete within 24 months of employment
