Indian River Hospital's Emergency Department has multi-disciplinary care teams, and the leading-edge technology needed to diagnose and treat patients effectively, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. As an RN, you will deliver exceptional care, throughout the patient care journey. In this role, you will interact directly with patients and their families, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program)
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or ALS through the American Red Cross within one year of hire
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within one year of hire
- One year of current acute care RN and/or Emergency Department experience. Will consider licensed military RN experience
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Background as an ER tech/EMT/paramedic or completion of ER practicum or preceptorship if a new grad
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) and/or Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) Certifications
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care.
- Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, document and communicate patients' conditions.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs.
- Educate patients and their families.
