Job Summary: The Resource Navigator is responsible for using sound professional judgment and best practices to ensure quality services are provided to the service population while maintaining compliance with established program standards.

Requirements

  • Required – High school diploma or equivalent.
  • With high school diploma or equivalent, at least 3 years of related direct experience serving families.
  • Maintain certificates required for the position including but not limited to First Aid and CPR.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s license with a clear driving record and reliable transportation.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens.
  • Provide proof or work eligibility status upon request.
  • Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background and motor vehicle check (fingerprints needed if applicant has lived out of state within the past 5 years).

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred - Bachelor’s degree in a health and human services field.
  • Bachelor’s degree will substitute for experience.

Responsibilities

  • Outreach and recruitment of participants for FRC activities.
  • Establish and maintain a trusting and professional working relationship with families by providing regular contact.
  • Administer intake, assessments, and screening tools to clients and family members.
  • Utilize intake and assessment results to establish and effectively implement goals, objectives, and activities identified with parents.
  • Provide intensive case management services to families.
  • Provide parent and health education, case management, resource and referrals, basic needs support, transportation assistance, and/or other support services to families on caseload.
  • Conduct systematic follow-ups for all families.
  • Record all group and individualized services and activities in a complete, concise, and timely manner utilizing program forms into PEIRS (FSS) and Salesforce (BCFS) software.
  • Meet with supervisor on a weekly (first 6 months, then monthly) basis to evaluate the status of families on caseload.
  • Meet all deliverables as outlined in the contract
  • Obtain and maintain certification in SafeCare curriculum administration per National SafeCare Research and Training Center guidelines.
  • Document all attendance on a weekly basis in Salesforce.
  • Attend all required annual trainings.
  • Provide community education on child abuse prevention strategies monthly.
  • Develop updates, reminders, and community education information monthly.
  • Demonstrate the ability to: a. Respond sensitively and competently to the service population’s cultural and socio-economic characteristics. b. Communicate effectively in writing and verbally in English. c. Work in a fast-paced environment. d. Maintain computer literacy required to meet the responsibilities of the position. e. Work effectively and without intensive supervision both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team. f. Travel as needed.
