About The Position

MU Health Care is seeking a compassionate RN to join our Urgent Care team. In this role, you'll provide essential nursing services in a 7-day, 12-hour shift environment. Requirements

• Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN. When primary state of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days.

Responsibilities

• Provides clinical patient care within the scope of a Registered Nurse, including assessment of condition, goal setting, and nursing actions to meet the physical, psychological, social, and rehabilitative needs of the patient.
• Assesses, intervenes, and reassesses patient self-report and symptoms of pain promptly, utilizing an appropriate tool for assessment and reassessment.
• Demonstrates an understanding of medications with regards to action and side effects. Report pertinent information to the appropriate individual. Educates patients and support person(s) about medications.
• Demonstrates the ability to evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions in accomplishing goals and intended patient care outcomes.
• Maintains the standards of nursing care and implements policies and procedures of MU Health Care and assigned nursing unit.
• Reports pertinent observations and reactions regarding patients to the appropriate person (i.e. resident physician, ancillary support teams) and records those observations accurately and concisely.
• Participates in meetings, in-services, and quality and performance improvement groups.
