Springwoods Behavioral Health, an 80-bed behavioral health facility located in Fayetteville, Arkansas, provides acute inpatient treatment for adolescent, adult, and specialty program for women. The hospital also offers outpatient treatment. Visit us online at: https://www.springwoodsbehavioral.com/ Position Purpose: Work with team and develop all activity therapy programming, from assessment, treatment planning, implementation, evaluation, to discharge planning, as assigned. As a representative of Springwoods Behavioral Health, all comments, attitudes, actions, and behaviors have a direct affect on the Facility’s image and perceptions of quality service. Interaction with patients, family members, physicians, referral sources, affiliating schools, visitors, etc. must be in a manner that is friendly, supportive, courteous, respectful, cooperative, and professional. This behavior should promote an atmosphere of teamwork which is congruent with facility standards and guidelines to promote positive relations. The RTA will assist the Recreational Therapist with planning and implementing therapy groups, exercise and recreation/activity interventions and design to reach treatment goals and outcomes. SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES: Working knowledge and experience with therapeutic recreation process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Must have the visual acuity to identify, instruct, and evaluate patient’s skills, affect, needs, safety, and progress. Excellent verbal and written skills are required to communicate and interact effectively with patients, families, physicians, hospital staff, and the public. Skill sets to work with patients, families, physicians, and staff. Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. Knowledge of treatment programs, leisure education, social skill development, arts, and sports is required. Must be able to provide age specific care and intervention for child, adult and geriatric population(s) Provides written documentation in the patient chart of patient’s level of participation and patient’s perceptions of activity and progress toward meeting treatment goals.
