The PRN Phlebotomist position involves ordering, collecting, and processing patient specimens, and assisting in the training of new phlebotomists. The role provides input into policies related to specimen collection and processing and is responsible for ensuring appropriate tests are performed on patients. There is no formal supervisory responsibility. The position requires knowledge of appropriate specimen collection procedures and medical terminology. The work environment carries a risk of blood and body fluid contamination. The Phlebotomist will provide care for patients across all age groups, from birth to geriatric (65 years and older). The work schedule includes day shifts, rotating holidays, weekends, and evening shifts as needed.
