About The Position

What Retail Pharmacy contributes to Cardinal Health Pharmacy Operations is responsible for the safe, efficient, and effective coordination of Cardinal Health's pharmacy operations that service acute care hospitals, hospital retail customers, ambulatory care and alternate site facilities, oncology and cardiology practices as well as retail customers. Retail Pharmacy is responsible for ensuring the correct and safe dispensing of prescription medications to the general public, in accordance with legal, ethical and professional guidelines; may also consult with and advise patients and physicians regarding prescribed and over-the-counter medications. Job Summary This position is located at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, NE Pharmacy Hours: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 9am-5pm; Wednesday and Friday 9am to 6pm Schedule: PRN covering PTO and working as needed The role of the Technician II, Retail Pharmacy plays an important role in delivering medication and pharmaceutical care in communities. This includes developing close relationships with patients in communities we serve and assisting the pharmacists in accurately preparing and delivering prescription medication.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience, preferred
  • Registration in state in which the position is located (if applicable)
  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred
  • Retail pharmacy technician related experience preferred
  • May require vendor credentialling
  • Applies acquired knowledge and skills to complete standard tasks
  • Readily learns and applies new information and methods to work in assigned area
  • Maintains appropriate licenses, training and certifications
  • Works on routine assignments that require some problem resolution
  • Works within clearly defined standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods
  • Adheres to all quality guidelines
  • Works under moderate degree of supervision
  • Work typically involves regular review of output by work lead or supervisor
  • Refers complex unusual problems to supervisor

  • Understands that the requirements of working in a pharmacy
  • Be available to the customer/patients and maintain a friendly and helpful attitude when dealing with customers.
  • Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Organizes and assists pharmacist
  • Ensures medication availability by delivering medications to patients and ordering when needed
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Works with pharmacy team to ensure best practices are being followed with regards to 340B
