Damar Pharmacy Services, LLC has a great opportunity for a PRN Pharmacist to join our team to fill in as needed throughout the year. Under the direction of the Director of Pharmacy, the Pharmacist is responsible for the full practice of pharmacy in accordance with applicable regulatory statues and accreditation standards; interpreting prescription orders, packaging, labeling, dispensing, administering and distribution of drugs and devices; accepts full responsibility as Pharmacy Manager of the site as defined in the Indiana Board of Pharmacy statutes, and other requirements as defined by DEA, AAAHC, 340B and other accreditation requirements. Remarkable way you will make a difference... Collaborates with providers on medication management. Ensures QRE’s are properly reported. Interprets, fills, and verifies prescriptions. Counsels patients on medication usage. Monitors drug therapy in conformance with OBRA Act. Performs medication review and recommends alternative therapies as appropriate. Responsible for medications received, drug storage, inventory control, pricing, and record maintenance. Properly handle and process expired and returned medications. Supervises staff and workflow processes. Prepares employee evaluations and applicable competencies. Conducts employee coaching sessions. Facilitates the professional development of staff. Accepts responsibility for maintaining and updating knowledge of all new and existing policies and procedures and participates in education of staff. Implements and assists in the training and orientation program for all new employees. Reviews and approves travel expense reports. Ensures legal and reporting requirements. Responsible for submitting reports and logs to Director of Pharmacy. Treats patients, staff and visitors with courtesy, sensitivity, and respect. Maintains patient confidentiality. Adheres to Quality Policy and participates actively in Quality Improvement Process activities. Follows safety and OSHA requirements. Participates in cross training activities. Responsible for physical appearance of the Pharmacy to include all housekeeping, cleanliness, neatness, sanitary conditions, and orderly filing of Pharmacy data. No eating or drinking in patients’ view. Ensures optimum employee satisfaction by maintaining a work environment of trust, open communication, and respect for each employee as an individual, and by identifying and working to fulfill the needs and goals of each assigned employee within the work setting. Exposure to infectious/contagious illnesses. Exposure to chemicals and inhalation of antibiotics during reconstitution. Must utilize universal precautions in clinical or exposure situations as recommended by federal, state, and local guidelines and/or law. Exposure to violent, irate patients. Shows initiative by identifying process improvement opportunities in order to provide the most relevant, compassionate, and up-to-date care to all Damar clients. Collaborates with both internal and external medical providers in an effort to ensure client and patient continuity of care. Maintains admitting privileges at a designated local tertiary care center in order to ensure patient needs are met when level of care exceeds what can be performed in an office setting. Oversees client health records and ensures recordkeeping in compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards.
