Our highly trained caregivers follow an intricate care model that is rooted in evidence-based practice and is patient-centric. We focus on detailed patient assessments, patient safety, patient and family education, and carefully and thoroughly planned coordinated care with the interdisciplinary care team. By joining this team as a Patient Care Nurse Assistant, you will coordinate with fellow caregivers to create a welcoming, healing and warm environment for patients in the ICU. This is an excellent opportunity for a nursing student as this is a PRN position that offers a flexible schedule and allows for a balance between school, work and life. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross - If you do not hold this certification, you must obtain it during your new hire period
  • Nursing students: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire
  • Military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered

Nice To Haves

  • State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA)

Responsibilities

  • Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN.
  • Patient care may include vital signs, weight, assisting patients with personal care and activities of daily living, patient transfers/transport, pulse oximetry, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices and removing urinary Foley catheter.
  • Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN.
  • Assist with keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
