The Paramedic performs in a nursing support role with a variety of direct care functions under general supervision by licensed team members including RN, Physician, and/or APC. The position involves receiving direction and assignments from licensed team members and providing technical support to optimize patient care. The Paramedic is responsible for reporting on the condition of the patient to the appropriate licensed team members to ensure safe, quality patient care, completing accurate documentation in the electronic medical record, reinforcing patient education performed by the RN, assisting with patient transport to other departments as needed based on patient condition, maintaining a safe and clean environment to perform patient care, and administering medications under the general supervision of the RN or Provider in accordance with the ThedaCare-approved Paramedic medication list.
