PRN Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
About The Position
We are seeking a PRN Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team. The ideal candidate is team-oriented, clinically confident, and experienced in urgent care, with a strong interest in occupational medicine. 8 hours per week required (Tues, Wed, Fri) This role provides care to a diverse patient population and includes both urgent care and occupational health services. Requirements
- Active West Virginia NP or PA license
- BLS Certification
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Minimum 4 years of urgent care or emergency medicine experience
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- EMR experience preferred
Nice To Haves
- Occupational medicine experience preferred
- NRCME / CDL-DOT Physicals certification is a plus
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive healthcare services to patients presenting for urgent care and occupational medicine
- Perform assessments, diagnoses, treatment, and management of acute illnesses and injuries
- Deliver occupational health services, including work-related injury care and employment physicals
- Promote health and conduct general evaluations of patient health status
- Order and interpret laboratory tests and radiographic studies (including X-rays)
- Diagnose and treat sprains, strains, fractures, and minor injuries
- Perform suturing, wound care, and basic procedures
- Refer patients to primary care or specialty providers as appropriate
- Accurately document care in the electronic medical record (EMR)
