About The Position

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center which is part of the nations leading provider of healthcare services, HCA Healthcare. The Nuclear Medicine (NM) Technologist performs general nuclear medicine and PET CT exams providing the highest level of customer service and image quality. The NM tech also receives, calibrates, logs, administers and monitors the decay of radioactive isotopes following appropriate policies, procedures and radiation safety practices.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine.
  • Current registry by CNMT or ARRT (N) is required.
  • BLS required.
  • PET CT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform nuclear medicine exams following protocols and in a timely manner, ensuring a high quality of care.
  • Receive, calibrate, log, administer and monitor the decay of radioactive isotopes.
  • Provide radiation safety support in the event of a radiation incident/spill.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
  • Record patients medical information.
  • Coordinate patient flow and check the daily list to ensure all exams are complete.
  • Inform the patient about the procedure and answer questions.
  • Interact and professionally communicate with co-workers, physicians, patients, and family members.
  • Maintain all licenses, certifications, and accreditations required as outlined in Job Qualifications.
  • Adhere to the facility ICARE values.
  • Prepare patients for and assist with examinations or treatments.
  • Prepare education the patient on discharge instructions.
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform technical skills and procedures.
  • Be knowledgeable in the handling of radioactive materials.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients served.
  • Properly measure radioactive waste and know how to dispose of it properly in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
