About The Position

This position provides for a clinical and evidence-based use of music to meet the individualized healthcare goals of patients through individual, group or environmental intervention. Essential Functions Develop and provide appropriate music therapy interventions for patients and families. Assist in managing and purchasing music therapy supplies and inventory. Manage time and prioritize patient care and tasks. Document music therapy interventions in patient charts in a timely and thorough manner, including initial assessments and progress notes. Demonstrate an understanding of the appropriate scope of music therapy within a clinical setting. Collaborate with medical team, nursing, and other family support service departments, which could include presenting educational in-services about music therapy within the medical setting. Participates in selection and training of new hires. Adheres to the music therapy code of ethics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy (Approved by the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA))
  • Board Certification as a Music Therapist (within 6 months of hire).

  • State Certification as a Music Therapist.
  • One year of experience in a clinical setting
  • Master’s Degree
