About The Position
Join Our Patient-Focused Team as a PRN Medical Assistant in Ocala and Lady Lake/The Villages! Multiple shifts are available and are flexible based on your schedule. Employees should be able to commit to 8-16 hours per week. SIMEDHealth is looking for compassionate and detail-oriented PRN Medical Assistants to join our dedicated teams across several clinics in our Ocala and Lady Lake / The Villages offices. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring the efficient flow of our clinical operations. Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program or National Certification (preferred)
- Current BLS/CPR certification (required)
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience (1-2 years) using electronic health records (preferred)
- At least one year of experience in a private medical office or hospital setting (preferred)
- Bilingual abilities are a plus!
Responsibilities
- Ensuring accurate and complete patient information is readily available in their electronic medical records.
- Welcoming patients to the exam room and efficiently documenting their vital signs in the EHR.
- Serving as a key point of contact for medication refill requests, coordinating between patients and providers.
- Administering prescribed medications (injections, oral, topical) according to your training and qualifications.
- Skillfully assisting with and performing various patient procedures (EKGs, spirometry, dressings, wound care, etc.) based on your expertise and clinic needs.
- Triaging patient phone calls with care and providing helpful responses to their medical inquiries.
- Proactively assisting patients with the often-complex process of referrals and authorizations for procedures and surgeries.
