About The Position

Join The Arc of Washington County as a PRN Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Hagerstown, MD, where you can make a real difference in the lives of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). This position offers a set schedule of 15 hours per week, specifically Monday to Friday from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM. No prior experience is necessary as full training will be provided. The role involves supporting three females in their home with daily personal care, assisting with medications, preparing meals, and providing transportation to day programs. You will be a consistent, positive presence in their lives, encouraging independence and dignity through compassionate care.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older
• Valid U.S. driver's license held for 2+ years (excluding permit time)
• Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, physical, and ergonomic assessments
• Availability to attend 3 weeks + 2 days of paid New Hire Training (M-F, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM)
• Caring, dependable, and ready to grow in a rewarding career

Responsibilities

• Support three females in the home with daily personal care (bathing, grooming, and dressing)
• Assist with medications, preparing breakfast, and packing lunches
• Provide transportation into the day program each morning
• Encourage independence and dignity through compassionate care
