About The Position

The position is for a part-time Registered Nurse (RN) at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in the Nursing Med Surg department. The RN will engage in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices. Responsibilities include utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, and collaborating with the care team to influence care outcomes. The RN will uphold a culture of safety, continuously evaluate patient and unit outcomes, administer medications and treatments according to clinical protocols, and maintain accurate EHR documentation. The role may require floating to other units and demands knowledge of age-specific care requirements. The RN must adhere to the ANA Code of Ethics and demonstrate effective communication and conflict resolution skills. The position requires a commitment to professional development and maintaining certifications.

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted registered nurse (RN) multi-state compact and/or single-state license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
  • No formal RN experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
