About The Position

The PRN CT Tech performs CT scans, providing the highest level of customer service and image quality. This role involves performing CT exams following protocols and in a timely manner, ensuring a high quality of care. The CT Tech will prepare procedure trays with appropriate supplies, take patient history, retrieve necessary orders or prior images, and provide patient history, signs, and symptoms appropriate to the exam to the radiologist. Additionally, the CT Tech will complete documentation, coordinate patient flow, support ALARA principles, inform patients about procedures, and interact professionally with physicians, patients, and family members. The role also includes starting IVs for contrast administration, using the power injector, contributing to after-hour coverage through on-call shift rotations, maintaining licenses and certifications, handling daily upkeep of departmental work areas, promoting customer service initiatives, supporting quality improvement plans, and demonstrating knowledge of human growth and development appropriate to the ages of patients served.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology.
  • Current ARRT certification with advanced registry, or registry eligible with advanced CT certification within 1 year of hire or within 6 months of eligibility.
  • 1 year post-graduate experience preferred.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Ability to work on a PRN basis.

Responsibilities

  • Perform CT exams following protocols and in a timely manner.

  • Provide patient history, signs, and symptoms to the radiologist.
  • Complete documentation appropriately.
  • Coordinate patient flow and check the daily list to ensure all exams are complete.
  • Support ALARA principles.
  • Inform patients about procedures and answer questions.
  • Interact and communicate professionally with physicians, patients, and family members.
  • Start IVs for contrast administration.
  • Use the power injector.
  • Contribute to after-hour coverage through on-call shift rotations.
  • Maintain all licenses, certifications, and accreditations required.
  • Handle daily upkeep of departmental work areas.
  • Promote customer service initiatives by adhering to ICARE values.
  • Support and participate in quality improvement and performance improvement plans.
  • Comply with quarterly targeted metrics.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development appropriate to the ages of patients served.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
