About The Position

Canyon Creek Behavioral Health: Canyon Creek Behavioral Health will open in Fall 2020, serving the behavioral health needs of adolescents and adults in Temple, Texas and all surrounding areas of Central Texas. Our behavioral health center will provide treatment options for individuals struggling with psychiatric health, chemical dependency and mood disorders such as anxiety and depression. Canyon Creek will be a 102-bed facility providing inpatient and outpatient treatment, as well as Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT). Inpatient treatment is a form of acute hospitalization for individuals facing a psychiatric crisis. Outpatient care is provided in a less restrictive treatment environment. Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) can be an effective treatment method for patients with severe, treatment-resistant depression. POSITION SUMMARY The Cook is responsible for the preparation and service of breakfast, lunch and dinner meals for patients and facility staff according to the approved menu cycle and production sheets. CUSTOMERS SERVED: Patients; families; direct-care service providers; external funding sources; service, accreditation, and licensing agencies; other staff; and the community.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Two (2) years’ experience in quantity cooking, preferred
  • basic knowledge of modified diets
  • training in food service sanitation and possession of food service food handler’s permit as required
  • experience utilizing industrial kitchen equipment and utensils
  • Will be required to complete Food Handler Certification.
  • The hours and shfits for this psoition can be varied and will need to be flexible during opening
