About The Position

This position is based on need as determined by the Allied Health Industry Programmer. Must evaluate and report student performance and progress in courses in accordance with College and division policies and procedures. The PRN Certified Nurse Assistant Instructor must teach the required number of hours scheduled, including classroom and clinical/simulation labs, to fulfill the course hour requirements. Classes may include days/evenings/weekend hours on various Iowa Lakes campuses. This position may also include assisting another lead instructor.

Requirements

• Current Iowa Registered Nurse license
• A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Registered Nurse
• 1 year experience in Long Term Care-strongly preferred
• Have either completed a course in training adults, have experience teaching adults or Nurse Aides, or agree to complete this training upon hire

Responsibilities

• Effectively organize and teach assigned course work in classrooms and clinical settings in accordance with established or developed syllabi.
• Evaluate, report and record student performance and progress in accordance with College and program guidelines.
• Maintain current course syllabi and provide student guides for all courses taught.
• Set up, coordinate and instruct/test classroom labs.
• Promote and support communications within the Allied Health Program, College and community.
• Communicate equipment malfunction, breakage or supply needs to the Programmer as soon as possible.
• Assist in the process of requesting and maintaining instructional equipment and supplies for classroom/laboratory use.
• Attend scheduled orientations and meetings of the Allied Health Department.
• Complete required on-line staff development courses.
