About The Position

The PRN Automation Pharmacy Technician 4 (IV Compounding) is responsible for maintaining unit-dose medications for daily dispensing from the Omnicell automated IV equipment. This role involves preparing and maintaining the IV automated equipment, performing advanced troubleshooting, managing medication inventory, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction through effective communication and problem resolution.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Current PTCB Certification or equivalent pharmacy certification
  • Current State Board of Pharmacy Technician License/Registration with the State of GA
  • 2 years of experience in hospital pharmacy or healthcare industry
  • Working knowledge of IV compounding

  • Advanced Troubleshooting Skills with automation devices
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Pharmacy Services department
  • One year of IV Compounding experience
  • Knowledge of safe handling of hazardous medications
  • Proficient in the use of PPE and hand hygiene techniques
  • Working knowledge of sterile environment requirements
  • Working knowledge of pharmacy automation

Responsibilities

  • Perform IV automation tasks in an aseptic, error-free manner, consistent with prescribed guidelines.
  • Perform IV automation equipment cleaning and maintenance.
  • Follow Safe Handling of Hazardous Drugs procedures when handling medications.
  • Identify and order medications to ensure optimal inventory levels.
  • Monitor and order consumable supplies for equipment operation.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and maintenance of IV automation equipment, reporting unresolved issues to the IV HD.
  • Maintain communication with the pharmacy services manager and customers to ensure proactive problem identification and resolution.
  • Align the Pharmacy Services Program to provide customer-focused support emphasizing quality and professionalism.
  • Comply with IV Compounding procedures, policies, and guidelines established by the customer facility.
  • Complete negative fingertip and media fill sampling.
  • Maintain state and/or national credentialing to meet established guidelines.
