About The Position

The Patient Care Technician at Christine E. Lynn Rehabilitation Center plays a vital role in supporting the healthcare team by providing essential care to patients under the supervision of a registered nurse. This position focuses on meeting the hygiene, safety, nutrition, elimination, and comfort needs of patients, ensuring a high standard of care in a renowned rehabilitation facility.

Requirements

  • 0 to 3 years of related experience required.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Completion of an approved Nursing Assistant Certification program is required.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant License is required for new hires after 08/09/2020; those hired before this date are grandfathered in.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required upon hire, with at least 6 months validity and maintenance during employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and modify care using a systematic process and educate patients and families.
  • Assist healthcare team with simple procedures and prepare necessary supplies and equipment.
  • Support patients and families, assist in positioning patients, and manage equipment setup and removal.
  • Perform various tasks related to patient care, including taking vital signs, feeding, mobility assistance, and personal hygiene tasks.
  • Utilize specialized equipment as needed for patient care, such as spirometers and restraints.
  • Prepare and clean exam rooms and treatment areas between patient uses.
  • Transport patients to and from treatment areas as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness of assigned clinic area after patient treatments according to departmental procedures.
  • Take and pick up food orders for patient kitchen evaluations.
  • Assist in fabricating adaptive and assistive equipment like washing mitts and safety belts.
  • Keep the storage closet organized and stocked.
  • Assist with office duties, including answering phones and taking messages.
  • Follow unit-specific policies and procedures as outlined in the competency checklist.
  • Demonstrate service excellence and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Expertise).
  • Perform other related job duties as assigned.
