The Role The Private Wealth Associate assists in the relationship and management of client’s household planning as a member of the Advisory team. This role is responsible for preparing, attending, and implementing work items following joint meetings with Private Wealth Advisor and clients/ prospects. This role requires knowledge in risk, investments, and planning to help analyze current situations; and works to develop and process solutions specific to the needs and goals of clients.

Requirements

  • 3+ years in Financial Services, with a background in financial planning preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent secondary education. Equivalent relevant experience and training may be substituted.
  • Colorado Life and Health Insurance Licenses required (or earned within first 30 days of employment)
  • FINRA SIE, Series 7, and Series 63 Licenses required (or earned within first 90 days of employment)
  • Ability to receive, prioritize, and complete workflow items regarding current financial situations and goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multiple business units, sourcing necessary information, and organizing deliverables in a consistent and concise manner.
  • High level of attention to detail and detail orientation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle the execution of confidential and time sensitive information.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Private Wealth Advisor in all aspects of client relationship management, including client/ household scheduling, servicing, and ensuring client information is correct and consistent.
  • Prepare presentation material for client and prospect meetings with strong attention to detail.
  • Attend client meetings to support the Private Wealth Advisors with memorialization of meeting notes and action items.
  • Complete follow-up/action items that arise during client interactions, including servicing items and new business opportunities.
  • Complete periodic internal reviews of managed households/ clients; working to identify areas of opportunity and data inconsistencies to review with Private Wealth Advisor.
  • Exemplify excellent communication skills across multiple business units, working collaboratively towards client goals with key stakeholders.
  • Complete investment statement analysis with familiarity in Morningstar or other reporting software.
  • Use propriety software to run in-force risk product ledgers, adjusting outputs to match client requests, advisor recommendations, and planning assumption changes.
  • Review and work to update financial plans in proprietary software, working alongside Sr. Planning Specialist and Operations Team.
  • Gaining an understanding of Northwestern Mutual product selection including risk and investments; this would include understanding industry standards and competing products.
  • Expectation to gain a deep knowledge of holistic financial planning philosophies to assist Private Wealth Advisor in developing and analyzing recommendations.
  • Participate in weekly, monthly, and quarterly meetings to share and develop skills and best practices.
