About The Position

Elite Private Chefs is seeking an experienced, highly skilled, and discreet Private Sous Chef to work alongside a lead chef serving dinners to an elite UHNW family in Midtown Manhattan, as well as cooking Lunch for Principal's Office staff of 30, 2 blocks away. This is a unique opportunity to support both private family dining and executive-level meal service in an exclusive, high-end setting. We’re looking for a classically trained chef; Michelin experience and plant-based cooking experience are both strong pluses. The ideal candidate has a calm, professional demeanor, is great with children, and can work collaboratively or independently with equal ease. The main principal maintains a health-conscious lifestyle and prefers meals with balanced proteins and carbohydrates.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a chef/private chef, ideally for high-profile or UHNW households or in high-end restaurant/luxury settings
  • Friendly, team-oriented attitude with excellent communication skills
  • Impeccable cleanliness, organization, and attention to detail
  • Flexible and proactive, able to adapt to changing household schedules and needs
  • Must demonstrate a high level of discretion and commitment to client privacy
  • Strong foundation in diverse culinary techniques and global cuisines
  • Maintain a spotless, well-organized kitchen and uphold top-tier food safety and hygiene standards
  • Source fresh, seasonal, and premium ingredients; manage inventory and supplier relationships
  • Accommodate dietary restrictions and wellness-focused meal planning (e.g., gluten-free, vegan, keto)
  • Occasionally assist with private events, dinner parties, or special gatherings

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the head chef to plan and execute menus for both the family and office
  • Prepare high-quality, healthy meals with balanced proteins, grains, and vegetables
  • Demonstrate classical culinary techniques with refined execution; Michelin or fine-dining background strongly preferred
  • Incorporate plant-forward and health-conscious cooking into daily meals
  • Maintain a calm demeanor amongst a very personable household; must be kind, open, and comfortable around children
  • Manage dual operations between the office and private residence kitchens
  • Assist in menus focused on weekly seasonal, Mediterranean, and wellness-oriented cuisine
  • Support private entertaining or special events as needed
