About The Position

The Y is the nation's largest provider of swim lessons to increase skill and safety in and around water. This position provides direct leadership, instruction and motivation for students in swimming classes. Part-time position instructing students in swimming and/or exercise fundamentals. Ensures proper techniques and use of equipment while providing a safe environment for learning. We teach classes ranging from Parent/Child through Adult.

Requirements

Current CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid, and swim lesson instructor certifications are a plus. We also conduct in-house training.
Must be able to demonstrate swim instructor skills in accordance with YMCA standards.
Ability to instruct and observe participants in proper stroke techniques, to lift equipment, and to lift a small to average size child.
Must be available to work flexible hours and be comfortable working with all ages and skill levels.
Minimum age 16.
Level 2 background clearance and 10-panel drug screen required.
