About The Position

Citizens Private Bank has accelerated its strategy to build out Wealth Management, scale its Business Banking, grow deposits, and expand in key growth markets. A key component of this initiative is our Private Equity & Venture Capital (“PEVC”) product suite, including Capital Call Lines of Credit, Management Company facilities and other products. We're looking for talented individuals who recognize the value of delivering a white glove experience to clients that results in long-term client loyalty. As a PEVC credit analyst, you will play a vital role in assisting underwriters and overseeing the management of the current PEVC portfolio.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Equivalent work experience or completion of formal credit training program and up to 2 years of applied financial analysis working with straightforward to moderately complex credits with a focus on Private Equity or Venture Capital is strongly preferred.
  • 1-3 years of private banking or commercial banking experience in a fast-paced environment is preferred.
  • Position requires basic internet search skills, developed knowledge of financial statement spreading and profitability modeling.
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities at once.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Ability to interact with high-level financial professionals in the PEVC ecosystem, ranging from fund administrators to CFOs.
  • Willingness to learn fund structure and how different loans support PEVC fund operations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a white glove service to our clients, which includes timely responses to all client-related inquiries and requests.
  • Create, maintain, and monitor all loan and credit files at the highest quality, which entails testing existing credit facilities for financial and reporting covenant compliance.
  • Detect early warning signs that could lead to a potential default, monitor underperforming loans and evaluate proper loan risk ratings.
  • Fulfill ongoing post-closing duties by ensuring compliance reviews and processing draw and paydown requests.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures.
  • Interact with private equity clients and understand operating models of client businesses.
  • Underwrite credit approval packages for renewals and modifications to existing credit facilities.
  • Assist with approval packages for new credit product originations.
  • Work with internal partners to complete enhanced due diligence (KYC) on borrowers, guarantors, and authorized signers.
  • Research and analyze client performance and structure for the purpose of determining the overall risk profile and creditworthiness of the client and communicating such to senior management.
  • Review and comprehend Bank loan documentation and client legal documentation.
  • Assist the loan process through all stages (prospecting, underwriting, legal negotiation, closing, post-closing activities).
  • Liaise with various internal Bank colleagues, external counsel, and clients.
