About The Position

The Private Client Banker (PCB) at KeyBank is a problem solver, trusted advisor, and partner within the Key Private Client Program, focusing on the entire client relationship with a plan-based approach to financial advice. This role involves delivering and referring appropriate financial solutions to KeyBank's client base with up to $2M in investable assets. The PCB helps new and existing clients achieve confidence in their financial wellness by assessing their financial needs, gathering and documenting client data, and offering appropriate products and services. PCBs identify products and services to meet client needs and refer to appropriate sales professionals in Retail, Key Investment Services, Private Bank, Mortgage or Business Banking. The position emphasizes a strong client experience culture, providing effective and customized financial wellness recommendations, and delivering solutions through referrals of investment and insurance products. It also involves building and maintaining client relationships, prospecting for new clients, and staying updated with market trends to provide informed financial advice.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in developing current and new customer relationships, achieving sales goals and building referral sources in insurance and investment products.
  • Foundational knowledge of sales and service techniques with clients, including tele-consulting, outside calling, prospecting and networking.
  • Interpersonal interaction skills and an ability to build rapport in matter of minutes is vital.
  • Demonstrated experience with influencing business partners and leveraging centers of influence, as this role will require significant influence of partners such as Key Investment Services, Mortgage and Business Banking sales professionals.
  • Working knowledge of PCs (MS Windows and Office Products including Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of digital technology (mobile, apps, web-based browsing) and ability to educate clients on digital platforms and capabilities within Key.

  • Knowledgeable about the client’s accounts and business with the bank and uses sound judgment with clients and transactions.
  • Demonstrated ability to attain sales and referral goals through preset appointments and quality conversations leading to recommendations that support clients’ financial wellness goals, leveraging system generated lead lists, walk-ins, and professional contacts.
  • Strong work ethic and high level of integrity.
  • Excellent time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver on client solutions through referring of investment and insurance products.

  • Open personal and business accounts (consumer checking, small business, various deposit products, home equity, unsecured lending, certificates of deposit, etc.).
  • Develop strong partnerships with branch teammates and line of business partners through in-person meetings– focusing on client acquisition and deepening the relationship of current clients; effectively manage internal and external centers of influence.
  • Ensure compliance with operational, risk, security and audit procedures and policies including appropriate documentation of client interactions.
  • Support of branch operations including assisting with client transactions on the Teller line as needed.
  • Participate in and occasionally facilitate in-person morning huddles and end of day debriefs.
  • Work on Saturdays as directed by management.

  • Build and nurture relationships with clients to understand their needs and provide solutions that enhance their financial well-being.
  • Identify potential clients, develop trust, and maintain long-term relationships.
  • Evaluate the overall health of a client's financial situation, including their ability to manage day-to-day finances, save for the future, and protect against financial risks.
  • Help clients achieve financial wellness through effective financial planning and advice.
  • Actively identify and develop new client relationships through prospecting and networking.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with high-net-worth clients, providing personalized service to meet their financial needs.
  • Stay updated with market trends and analyze market conditions to provide informed financial advice.
