About The Position

Private Chef Position – Fisher Island, FL Elite Private Chefs is seeking a highly skilled and versatile Private Chef to oversee daily culinary service for a private family based primarily on Fisher Island, Florida. This is a full-time role, plus travel with frequent entertaining. The chef will be responsible for preparing breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the family while maintaining exceptional standards of organization, flexibility, and professionalism. The family enjoys a wide range of cuisines. The chef will work closely with the principle, who serves as the primary point of contact and collaborates with the chef on weekly menu planning. While the role is largely behind-the-scenes, strong communication and adaptability are essential as schedules and needs may change. This position requires a chef who is comfortable operating independently while coordinating with household staff for service and kitchen support. The ideal candidate will bring strong culinary versatility, professionalism, and the ability to operate seamlessly in a high-standard private household environment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Private Chef, ideally within UHNW households, high-profile environments, or high-end restaurant or luxury hospitality settings
  • Demonstrated discretion and a strong commitment to client privacy and confidentiality
  • Exceptional cleanliness, organization, and attention to detail
  • Strong foundation in diverse culinary techniques and global cuisines
  • Flexible, proactive, and able to adapt to changing household schedules and needs
  • Friendly, team-oriented professional with excellent communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Prepare daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the household (approximately 8 AM breakfast, 12–12:30 PM lunch, early dinner for the child, and evening dinner for adults)
  • Create varied, high-quality meals across multiple cuisines including American, Asian, Mexican, French, and Italian
  • Follow a menu template provided by the principal and collaborate on weekly menu planning
  • Accommodate dietary needs including gluten-free meals and allergies (no almonds, dairy restrictions) and ingredient preferences (no raw onions, cilantro, or dill)
  • Manage pantry inventory, grocery sourcing, and food purchasing (company card or reimbursement)
  • Coordinate with household staff who assist with service and kitchen upkeep
  • Prepare meals primarily buffet style with occasional plated service when requested
  • Maintain a highly organized, clean, and professional kitchen environment
  • Operate in a primarily behind-the-scenes role while maintaining strong communication with the principal
