Roblox is looking for a Privacy Operations Lead with deep operational and data privacy subject matter expertise to support and scale the execution of global data privacy request handling. You will operationalize and improve Roblox’s privacy request workflows, ensuring regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and readiness to support evolving global requirements. You will partner closely with the Privacy Operations Manager and cross-functional teams (Legal, Engineering, Product, Trust & Safety, and Customer Support) to develop process documentation, create scalable solutions, manage escalations, and drive continuous improvement across privacy operations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, execution-oriented, reliable, and exercises strong judgment in high-risk or ambiguous situations. You thrive in a fast-paced environment where you are expected to balance hands-on operational work with process improvement, manage multiple cross-functional priorities simultaneously, and proactively identify risks before they impact compliance or service levels. This role will be based in our San Mateo, CA office, hybrid work model (3 days a week in office).

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in operations, Trust & Safety, compliance, privacy, or a related field, ideally within a technology or global organization
  • 1–2+ years of experience in a lead or supervisory role supporting frontline operational teams
  • Strong understanding of data privacy concepts and regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, COPPA)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage operational queues, SLAs, and performance metrics in a high-volume environment
  • Proven experience coaching and guiding frontline agents to drive accuracy, consistency, and operational excellence
  • Experience handling complex or high-risk data subject requests, including escalations involving minors, legal entities, or regulators
  • Experience partnering cross-functionally with Legal, Engineering, Product, Trust & Safety, and Customer Support teams
  • Demonstrated ability to identify operational risks and drive process improvements or automation initiatives
  • Experience supporting audits, regulatory inquiries, or maintaining audit-ready documentation

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with privacy request workflows and identity verification processes
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems (e.g., Zendesk), dashboards, and internal tooling
  • Background in process improvement, QA, or operational risk management

Responsibilities

  • Lead and continuously improve global privacy request workflows to ensure regulatory compliance and operational excellence.
  • Oversee complex data subject requests and serve as an escalation point for sensitive or high-risk cases.
  • Monitor queue health and SLA performance to ensure timely, accurate handling and prioritization.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Legal, Engineering, Product, Trust & Safety, and Customer Support to resolve issues and drive scalable solutions.
  • Coach frontline agents and reinforce best practices to improve quality and consistency.
  • Manage legal escalations, investigations, and stakeholder communication to ensure compliant outcomes.
  • Drive quality, risk management, reporting accuracy, and process improvements across Privacy Operations.
  • Coordinate tooling and issue tracking and support automation and scalability initiatives.
  • Provide leadership coverage when needed and contribute to high-priority projects and initiatives across Privacy Operations.
