About The Position
The Privacy Counsel is responsible for providing proactive leadership, direction, guidance, and support to business divisions, strategic business units and corporate functions in all aspects of data privacy. The Privacy Counsel will assist in leading the ongoing implementation, coordination, and management of a comprehensive privacy program to meet state, federal and global laws and regulations related to data privacy. The Privacy Counsel also will also cultivate and leverage robust enterprise-wide collaborations. The Privacy Counsel will be a valued global partner and advisor to several corporate functions, including, but not limited to IT, HR, and Marketing by providing strategic consultation, independent assurance, and a catalyst for coordinated, balanced action on risk and compliance matters. The position will report to the Vice President, Ethics, Integrity and Data Privacy with (i) 1 or more direct reports, including junior level attorneys or privacy professionals and/or (ii) global programs and routinely interact with HARMAN’s senior operational or functional teams.
