About The Position
Vital Care infusion services of Jacksonville is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Prior Authorization Specialist to join our team and play a crucial role in efficiently processing prescriptions and insurance data. As an Intake Specialist, you will be responsible for collecting medical history, verifying insurance benefits, coordinating with our corporate insurance specialist, and facilitating patient care through effective communication with doctors and patients. This position requires a strong understanding of the prescription and medical prior authorization process, along with exceptional communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. In this role, you will accurately enter prescription and insurance data into the pharmacy system, ensuring that all information is correct and up-to-date. You will collect comprehensive medical histories from patients to ensure appropriate and safe medication use. Verifying medical and pharmacy insurance benefits and coverage for patients is essential, as is ensuring accurate billing and claims processing. You will collaborate with the corporate insurance specialist to handle prior authorization requests efficiently, coordinating patient care by liaising with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and other relevant parties. Maintaining open and transparent communication with doctors and patients at every step of the prior authorization process is vital. You will handle inquiries from patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies related to prior authorization status and medication orders. Additionally, you will assist in resolving any issues or delays related to the prior authorization process to ensure timely patient access to medications. Updating and maintaining patient records and documentation accurately and confidentially is also part of your responsibilities. You will provide support and assistance to pharmacy technicians and other team members as needed, contributing to a collaborative work environment.
