About The Position

The position involves safely making adjustments to and operating can decorating/coating machinery and related equipment, as well as assisting in repairing and maintaining equipment as directed. The role requires a thorough understanding of the machinery involved in the decorating and coating of can bodies, including printers, coating ovens, and mechanical control devices.

Requirements

• Familiar with personal protective equipment.
• Mechanically inclined; familiar with hand tools.
• Familiar with proper handling of chemicals/solvents.
• Familiar with material safety data sheets.
• 1 year of inside spray preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing preferred.
• Decorator/Printer Operator Experience preferred.
• Ability to navigate computer-based programs.
• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.

Responsibilities

• Adjusts and operates all machinery relating to the decorating and coating of can bodies.
• Examines cans to determine conformance to specifications and makes necessary adjustments to equipment.
• Inspects equipment to prevent breakdowns, lubricates, and makes adjustments for wear.
• Reads and follows procedural manuals, manufacturers' equipment guides, operating records, production logs, and maintenance requirements.
• Services equipment by adding oil or lubricants and inks and lacquers to reservoirs.
• Observes safety regulations and practices to ensure protection for self and others.
• Refers unusual or critical needs to supervisor.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
