About The Position

As an electrical engineer for the Optical Center of Excellence, youll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for the development of a new class of high speed FSO communication systems. We encourage you to apply if you have any of these preferred skills or experiences: High-speed PCB design (~10GHz) Sensitive Analog PCB design Design, Development, ,Troubleshooting, and Test of PCBs, and integration with other components What sets you apart: Proven mixed-signal circuit design and analysis skills. Recent Experience with Electrical Engineering computer-aided design (CAD) tools; Xpedition, HyperLynx tools, and LTspice preferred High speed and mixed-signal RF design experience (A/D, D/A, Op-Amps); Data rates 10 Gbps and above preferred Proven experience designing PCBs with tight Signal Integrity requirements Knowledge of electrical assembly and test, communications-related tools (BERT, sampling oscilloscope, OSA) Experience designing SMPS, power entry modules, and transient suppression preferred Familiarity with software development. Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field.
  • Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience.
  • Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire and will be required to be obtained.
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
