About The Position

This role supervises and leads front of house operations for two print centers, with primary responsibility for customer intake, graphic design and prepress workflow, job prioritization, and service quality. The Supervisor oversees daily order intake, customer communication, proofing and release processes, and coordinates the movement of print work between locations to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and customer satisfaction. This position serves as the primary front office leadership role, ensuring a smooth transition from customer request through production handoff. Responsible for ensuring safety, quality, accuracy, efficiency and timeliness of all personnel, products and equipment on the production floor in order to meet or exceed our customer requirements within budget. Plans, setups and proactives adjustment of a daily/weekly employee and production schedule in order to meet deadlines. Develops and implements print and mailroom procedures for efficient and cost-effective methods.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED required.
  • Minimum of two years experience in print operations.
  • Supervisory experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and schedules all digital/offset print and mail production.
  • Establishes inventory policies and maintain levels of all printed materials within established guidelines and budget.
  • Updates equipment, processes and services to meet the needs of the business.
  • Reduces print and copy costs by directing business to the most efficient print vehicle.
  • Develops quality, low cost point-of-purchase for supplies and materials.
  • Implements, analyzes and enforces quality control measures and/or processes to correct concerns during the production cycle.
  • Make decisions and recommendations regarding equipment use, maintenance, modification, repair and procurement.
  • Documents and implements standard operating procedures for daily production operations.
  • Ensures that all standard operating procedures are adhered to including health and OSHA safety procedures.
  • Coaches, mentors and sets performance expectations/targets with employees.
  • Writes and delivers annual reviews to team members.
  • Prepares and maintains production reports.
  • Orders supplies and materials.
  • Maintains printed inventory.
  • Ensures payroll accuracy by overseeing and correcting all time clock punches.
  • Maintains efficient workflow by holding direct reports accountable for quality and efficiency of work.
  • Ensures efficient collaboration and coordination between relevant departments including procurement, distribution and management.
  • High-level understanding of mail processes and workflows including NCOA, CASS, data processing, VDP set-up, and USPS standards and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
