The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and consistent production. This position performs preventive maintenance, responds to machine issues, troubleshoots printing problems, and supports daily production needs. The role involves completing work orders, logging tasks, monitoring PM assignments, and maintaining inventory understanding. Technicians assist printing production staff with day-to-day machine problems, operate printing presses as needed to identify, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical or printing-related issues, and diagnose printing defects and mechanical failures with the ability to repair root causes. Daily communication with incoming and outgoing maintenance technicians is crucial for smooth shift transitions. Adherence to GMP/HACCP practices, sanitation and housekeeping standards, and all Food Safety and Safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), is required. The position supports departmental goals—including MEEF, EFF, SCRAP reduction, and downtime reduction—through effective maintenance practices, and involves assisting with maintaining records related to maintenance activities, cost savings, and departmental budget tracking. It also includes supporting training documentation for the department and immediately stopping work when equipment or processes pose an imminent safety risk, all while completing tasks in compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
