About The Position

Winpak Portion Packaging is seeking a Lead Operator to join our Print & Padding Dept. on day shift, based out of our Sauk Village location. In this role you will provide technical direction and other support to the Print & Padding Departments in order to achieve minimal downtime, minimal scrap, high efficiency and high-quality output on all equipment. This position is 100% onsite.

Requirements

• Demonstrated leadership and technical experience required.
• Ability to communicate successfully both written verbally.
• Basic Math, Computer and mechanical skills required.
• Lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs.
• Walking/standing approximately 8 - 12 hours per day.
• Climbing stairs & ladders.
• Bending/stooping/kneeling and crawling.

Nice To Haves

• Two year technical degree desired or relation equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Train and develop personnel on correct operating practices, adjustment techniques and other procedures as needed.
• Troubleshoot print/pad problems to minimize downtime and scrap.
• Schedule, direct, and discipline employees.
• Perform administrative duties including performance reviews, attendance calendars, time cards, disciplinary actions, training documentation, etc.
• Prepare daily production reports that include shift production, downtime, overtime, scrap levels, major problems, and corrective action.
• Ensure all employees follow company GMP, sanitation, pre-requisite programs, chemical control, food safety plans, and policies.
• Maintain effective and productive relationships with superiors, peers, subordinates, and all other departments.
• Communicate/Coordinate/Execute with Customer Service, Engineering, R D, Supply Chain Management, Scheduling, and Inventory Control.
• Ensure compliance with company safety rules and regulations.
• Other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
