About The Position

Requirements

  • Excellent organization and time-management skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to use sound judgment in decision-making.
  • Knowledge of database software and student outcome assessments.

Nice To Haves

  • Principal experience preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in leading dual language programming preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Superintendent endorsement preferred.
  • Commitment to 5 years in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the establishment and implementation of a shared mission and vision for the school that leads to academic growth for all learners.
  • Ensure that the school's identity, vision, and mission drive all school decisions.
  • Conduct crucial conversations with staff based on student performance data to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Lead the development and monitoring of school improvement targets measuring academic achievement and school climate indicators.
  • Establish and maintain a safe and effective learning environment for students and staff.
  • Collaborate with district and school staff to allocate resources effectively to achieve school improvement targets.
  • Utilize current technologies to support leadership and management functions.
  • Develop and implement a consistent framework for effective teaching and learning, including a rigorous standards-based curriculum.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of instruction and individual teachers through observations and feedback.
  • Create a collaborative school community involving staff, students, families, and the community in the learning process.
  • Model professional behavior and create a climate that values cultural diversity and multiple perspectives.
  • Establish a culture of high aspirations and achievement for every student.
