About The Position

Rossford Schools is seeking an experienced and dynamic educational leader to serve as Principal of Rossford Elementary School for the 2026-2027 school year. Rossford Elementary serves approximately 820 students in preschool through grade 5. The principal will lead a learning community committed to helping students be Respectful, Responsible, and Ready while working to prepare, inspire, and empower all students to achieve success. The principal will align school leadership with district priorities focused on student experience, community partnerships, clear communication, and responsible stewardship of resources. The Rossford Elementary Principal provides instructional and operational leadership to support high expectations for student learning, positive student development, and effective school systems. The principal leads with integrity, supports and develops staff, maintains a safe and respectful school environment, and builds strong relationships with families and the community.

Requirements

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Educational Administration or a related field
  • Appropriate Ohio Principal Certification/Licensure
  • Proven capability in educational leadership, preferably a minimum of three (3) years of experience as a principal or assistant principal
  • Deep understanding of educational policies, curriculum development, and instructional practices
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong decision-making abilities, problem-solving skills, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • In accordance with State law, the Rossford Board of Education requires a criminal background check through the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation (BCII) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) records for each applicant the Superintendent recommends for employment.

Responsibilities

  • Instructional Leadership & Student Achievement: Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of school improvement goals aligned to district priorities and student needs. Support high-quality instruction through curriculum alignment, effective instructional practices, and meaningful use of student learning data. Collaborate with staff to strengthen assessment practices and ensure progress monitoring supports student growth. Promote a culture of academic excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • School Culture, Student Support & Safety: Maintain a safe, respectful learning environment with clear expectations and consistent implementation of student behavior supports. Support the social, emotional, and academic needs of students through effective school systems and problem-solving practices. Ensure classroom routines and school-wide practices support strong attendance, engagement, and student responsibility
  • Staff Leadership, Supervision & Development: Supervise, support, and evaluate faculty and staff; provide timely feedback and coaching to strengthen performance. Lead professional learning aligned to school goals and staff needs; foster collaboration and shared leadership. Support staff recruitment, onboarding, and retention consistent with district expectations and building needs
  • Operations, Budgeting & Resource Management: Oversee day-to-day school operations including scheduling, budgeting, facilities management, supervision, and resource allocation. Establish efficient systems to support building operations and maximize instructional time. Use resources responsibly and transparently to support school goals and student needs
  • Family & Community Partnerships: Build strong relationships with parents/guardians and community stakeholders to support student success. Communicate effectively with families and the community using clear, timely, and consistent outreach. Create opportunities for family engagement and collaboration that strengthen trust and school-community connections
  • Compliance & Professional Responsibilities: Ensure compliance with educational laws, district policies, and state regulations. Maintain accountability for academic standards, student achievement, and school performance measures. Fulfill responsibilities as outlined in the applicable job description, including other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee
