Look no further… Fiducial Expertise is hiring a Principal for their growing office in Arvada, CO. This position reports directly to the Director Field Operations-North America. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Certified Public Accountant to manage a small local office of eight people and continue to develop a local business community accounting, tax, and business advisory practice under the guidance and support of a global company. The role oversees all Fiducial Expertise-Arvada practice activities and provides day-to-day leadership for the team. Key responsibilities include managing client and staff relationships to ensure timely delivery of work, coordinating workflows, and budgeting both engagements and employee billable time. This involves assigning the appropriate mix of staff, monitoring progress, and confirming that service pricing is agreed upon and collected as scheduled. Administrative duties include evaluating performance, making hiring and promotion decisions, addressing conflicts, and mentoring team members. Beyond operational oversight, the position requires reviewing staff work, delivering hands-on accounting and tax preparation, and ensuring all output meets Fiducial Expertise's quality control standards. This individual also serves as the primary resource for technical research and for addressing complex questions from employees and clients. The role includes generating billable hours through value-added financial reporting, accounting, tax, and business advisory services for corporate, partnership, LLC, nonprofit, estate, trust, and individual clients across multiple states and industries. This leader is also accountable for the practice P&L and achieving budgeted targets, with responsibility for business development aimed at expanding the client base, service offerings, and new opportunities. In collaboration with the Director Field Operations-North America, they will prepare the annual budget for the local practice.

Requirements

  • 15+ years' work experience in a public accounting or private company accounting/tax department or self-employed CPA practitioner (or any combination of the three)
  • Work experience includes income tax compliance, planning, research and taxpayer representation for corporate, individual, partnership, LLC, nonprofit, estates and trusts as well as multi-state income tax filing requirements
  • Work experience includes monthly general ledger bookkeeping, account analysis, bank reconciliations, payroll, sales tax, personal property tax and financial statement reporting
  • Working knowledge of Internal Revenue Code (IRC) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Working knowledge of accounting and tax software applications such as QuickBooks, CCH Axcess
  • Proven management skills to develop, supervise and mentor a team of professionals
  • Proven business development skills and past track record of generating new revenue
  • Proven writing skills to prepare complex financial reporting and advisory reports for client engagements
  • Proven practical problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects for multiple clients
  • Proven ability to handle a high-volume workload at a high level of efficiency including monitoring production; answering technical processing and accounting/tax questions; and client reporting
  • BA or MA in Accounting, Tax or Finance
  • Active Licensed Certified Public Accountant in Colorado required
  • Active PTIN required
