About The Position

Arbor Academy is a free public charter school located in Battle Creek, Michigan that proudly serves students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Ideal candidates would be experienced in developing and implementing a unified instructional vision that seamlessly integrates academic achievement with SEL competencies. Requirements

Masters degree in Educational Leadership or related field.
Valid Michigan School Administrator Certification (or eligibility).
A minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience and must have a valid teaching license.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Satisfactory criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

Demonstrated record of successful administrative experience, preferably in a K-8 or charter school setting.
Familiarity with MTSS/behavioral support systems.
Demonstrated success in instructional leadership and school climate initiatives.

Responsibilities

Provide daily leadership and supervision for all K-8 school operations.
Offer instructional leadership and support to classroom teachers, Title I staff, and other support personnel.
Conduct formal and informal classroom observations and provide timely, constructive feedback.
Attend and participate in IEP meetings, staff meetings, parent events, and other school functions.
Plan and facilitate weekly staff meetings and professional development activities
Collaborate with staff to address student behavior, discipline, and positive behavior supports.
Communicate proactively and professionally with parents and guardians regarding student progress, concerns, and school matters.
Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing school environment for students and staff.
Ensure compliance with school policies, state guidelines, and school procedures.
Identify and engage in his/her own professional growth in shaping professional practice.
Support priorities to meet the needs of students and teachers through collaboration with staff and parents.
Serve as the liaison between the school, the Board of Directors, and authorizer, ensuring clear communication, compliance, and effective implementation of Board policy.
