Leavitt Partners, an HMA company, is currently seeking to hire a Principal in our Washington D.C. office. A Principal is primarily responsible for leading business development and client service by building Leavitt Partners external reputation, sourcing potential clients, cultivating client relationships, providing strategic direction to client teams, and serving as a subject matter expert in specific areas of health policy. Principals also oversee client management as executive sponsors on client projects and work across our two practice areas: multi-sector alliances and federal insights and advocacy. Principals are expected to exemplify company values, mentor personnel, and provide thought leadership. We are seeking individuals with a strong background in one of two areas (candidates need not have both): digital health and Medicaid policy. The ideal candidate for the digital health role will have a graduate degree in a relevant field and expertise in the health technology industry; a deep understanding of how federal legislative and regulatory processes impact digital health tools including consumer-facing applications, digital therapeutics, virtual care, and electronic health records; strong familiarity with digital health policies developed by ASTP/ONC, CMS, and FDA; and experience implementing or developing interoperability standards such as HL7 FHIR®. The ideal candidate for the Medicaid role will have a graduate degree in a relevant field; experience with developing and/or implementing national and state Medicaid policy; a knowledge of Medicaid financing, eligibility pathways, and waivers; a deep understanding of the impact of policy, reimbursement, and coverage decisions for health plans, providers, and beneficiaries; and significant professional experience with stakeholder organizations involved in Medicaid policy and advocacy. Working with clients, the Principal provides expertise and advice to help organizations improve their business performance in terms of operations, profitability, management, structure, and strategy; develops and maintains client relationships; and is responsible for achieving firm expectations for effective client services (i.e., project direction, project management, and work product quality). The Principal also mentors junior staff, contributes to HMA’s strategic objectives, meets internal administrative expectations, accepts accountability, and contributes to HMA’s culture.
